I
graduated from University High School in 1967 and
Eastern Washington University in 1971
As
a young man, I worked for my father in the
demolition/salvage/retail business (Fairchild Lumber
Sales) 1960-1966
I
have bought and sold houses that were purchased as
fixer-uppers and performed most of the necessary
remodel and repair myself. I have built 3 houses from the foundation up. The most recent was in 2004.
• In March 1999 I started my general contractors business Olson Enterprises Inc. specializing in home remodel and repair. My work experience satisfied the state for my general contractor's license. I maintained my general contractors license through 2009 at which time I closed that business.
In
May 1999, I completed and passed a 40 hour home
inspector class through "Accuspect Home
Inspector Institute" and started my second
business, A-Quality Home & Building Inspections
LLC. Washington state License#
519
On
May 29, 2004, I completed and passed a 50 hour
in-class home inspection course given by TWI Systems
of Las Vegas, NV of which I am an affiliate member.
I receive continuous education through several organizations such as ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors); Washington State Department of Agriculture; Washington State Association of Structural Pest Inspectors; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Association of Spokane; White Cap Industries (concrete finishing); Metropolitan Hardwoods (hardwood, laminate and composite floor installation and repair) and TWI Systems/Affiliates.
On June 2, 2011, I successfully completed all membership requirements listed at www.nachi.org/membership. NACHI ID Number NACHI11060201
I
am a member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+
rating.
I have performed thousands of pre-purchase home and building inspections throughout the state of Washington over the last 12 years experience. I have a comprehensive understanding of structural purpose and design. Prior to July 2009, the only licensing requirement by Washington state was that of a structural pest inspector of which I complied. Starting on July 2009, Washington state reclassified home inspectors and placed us under the licensing Real Estate division for licensing at which time the structural pest inspector requirement became an option which I dropped as noted in my contract.
